The distinguishing characteristic of this signage system is the material: cotton cloth. In the design, we aimed to create a quiet, tender atmosphere for this place where women spend time before and during childbirth, and caring for newborn babies. Yet here is a more important element: this signage is washable. The invariably easily soiled white cotton signage conveys to both patients and visitors the facility's consistent and comprehensive hospitality. The extremely delicate sensibility of this signage is perceived unmistakably through several senses by both patients and visitors alike. The same principle is found in first-class restaurants, whose hospitality and cleanliness is announced with snow-white table linen. We provided for two spares of each variation. The signage is produced at low cost and allows for 400 launderings. This washable signage will maintain its cleanliness for ten years.
