Bullet 4 Peace aims to promote world unity through displaying a unique jewellery line createdout of silver and precious stones based on real bullets that have been artistically designed to signify world peace.

While raising money for various charities, designer Rafi Anteby incorporates a lot of goals into the show.

“I've witnessed many conflicts throughout my life including wars in the Middle East and violence in Africa and I am always amazed how mankind takes the beautiful world we were given and unfortunately, instils it with chaos and mayhem,” says Rafi.

“We live in a very sensitive time and space and I feel a strong need to bring a statement that not only helps raise the awareness of the current world we live in but also, I want to give back to the world and make it a stronger place,” he continues.

Some of the charities that proceeds will go to include peace promotion programs, education programs, medical health and social welfare programs as well as those concerned with bringing peace to the world's ecology.

Un survol du logo de JO depuis leur naissance. Certains comme Moscou, Montreal sont intemporel, d'autres plus récents de peu d'intérêt comme la Grèce. Lequel préférez-vous?

JULIEN VALLÉE FAIT DANSER LES OBJETS

Un des mes designers favoris qui vit à Montréal et qui questionne notre rapport aux objets tangibles face au tout technologique. Ses concepts sont faits de matière et scénarisations. Son approche démontre une volonté de mettre la main à la pâte pour s'approprier le travail de céation.

Julien Vallée donne vie aux objets avec "Danse Dance", un projet qui mêle "stop motion" et interactivité.
"Nous sommes entourés d'objets auxquels nous ne portons pas attention. Nous les utilisons seulement quand nous en avons besoin afin de nous assurer qu'ils n'empiètent pas trop dans notre espace. Mais s'ils n'étaient pas si serviles? Que se passerait-il s'ils pouvaient tourner, sauter ou même voler? Et s'ils le faisaient tous en même temps?"

Le designer, et son collaborateur, Nicolas Burrows (designer et illustrateur anglais), ont imaginé un lieu où les objets pourraient harmonieusement prendre vie.

Leur création s'anime avec les utilisateurs. Chaque objet de l'image est associé à une lettre du clavier. Il suffit à l'internaute d'appuyer sur les touches pour les activer ou désactiver.

"Danse Dance" a été conçu pour l'exposition "If You Could Collaborate", tenue à la Foundation Gallery de Londres.

Le "making-of" du projet, mis en ligne la semaine dernière, a déjà fait le tour de la blogosphère, de Fubiz à Étapes, en passant par Libération.

Phillu - Matchbox

The name Phillu comes from; Phillumeny (also known as Phillumenism) which is the hobby of collecting different match-related items: matchboxes, matchbox labels, matchbooks, matchcovers, matchsafes, etc.

Phillu is a matchbox-shaped mobile storage device which makes it possible to carry and transfer up to 45 GB of your data. The idea behind the product is to use the shapes and functions of a matchbox in portable storage ways.

There are 9 removable match-shaped sticks, each has a 5 GB storage capacity, integrated to the device. For transferring data from each stick to another Phillu is only possible until you light them.

How to transfer data by sticks?

* Push the case from behind to choose and pick an avalaible stick.

* Put the stick head at the end of the striker.

* Strike the stick quickly along the striker adding pressure.

Now the stick turns into burned black match, making it possible to give it to another Phillu owner to share your data without the need of any computer in between.

Sharing your data with others will be completed after they plug in the stick to their own Phillu.
